Shipping

Orders are shipping within 24-48 hours (or sooner) on weekdays, and within 72 hours on the weekends. I know that you want to receive your fabric and get started on your project quickly! All shipping rates are subject to change without notice.

Patterns ship for free within the US via First Class Mail everyday. If you have an order that is only patterns, you will be able to choose a Free Shipping for Patterns Only during the checkout process. Please only choose this option if your order includes only patterns and not fabric. Otherwise, you will receive an invoice for shipping. Magazines are not part of the Free shipping offer.

If you order just one fat quarter, shipping will be $3.00, which is the lowest shipping charge. Please do not choose the free shipping pattern only option, as a fat quarter does not qualify for this offer and you will be billed for shipping.

There is an option for Local Pick-up with no shipping charge. If you choose this options, you will need to pick up your order in the Eastside Seattle area. Please do not choose this option if you are not local. If you do choose this option and are unable to pick up your order, contact me and I will add appropriate shipping to your order and request payment for shipping before sending your order.

Shipping charges have changed as of 10/01/11. With so many lower prices, the rates need to match the yardage being shipped. Fabric is heavy and bulky to mail!

Shipping charges are based on the order total as follows:

$0.01 to $9.49 is $3.00
$9.50 to $44.99 is $4.75
$45.00 to $119.99 is $6.50
$120.00 and over is $8.50

Shipping is generally via US Postal Service Priority Mail and a delivery confirmation number will be provided to you. However, smaller orders are shipped First Class Mail, and a delivery confirmation number is often not available. Free shipping for patterns is generally sent via First Class Mail, and no delivery confirmation is available unless you have ordered several patterns at once that are shipped in a Flat Rate Envelope. The shop cannot be responsible for packages once they enter the postal or shipping system or for misdirected mail, incorrect addresses entered into the checkout page or in PayPal accounts.

Large orders that cannot fit into a Flat Rate Box may be sent in more than one box or via UPS, depending upon which is the most economical and fastest method. If your actual shipping is significantly less than you were charged, I will refund the difference to you.

APO military addresses are shipped at the same rates as domestic packages.

International Shipping & Policies

PLEASE NOTE: Due to Postage rate increases, international shipping rates have been increased as of January 23, 2012.

If you are not comfortable shipping without a tracking number, contact me about paying for a Medium Flat Rate box which is the only way delivery confirmation & insurance is available. Packages lost in the mail will not be replaced.

All customs fees charged by the customer's country are the customer's responsibility. Please check into custom's fees before placing an order. If an order is returned to due high customs fees that the customer is unwilling to be paid, the order will be refunded for the amount of merchandise that is returned, minus the cost of shipping.

International shipping is generally via International Flat Rate Priority Mail Envelope for orders up to $35.00 which generally allows for up to 9 yards of fabric, but does not include any sort of tracking number. I will ship in two Flat Rate Evelope to save money on shipping. Again, there is no delivery confirmation or tracking information available for this shipping, and once the packages entery the Postal System I am not responsible for the package. Beyond that, the International Flat Rate Box shipping jumps up quite a bit, which is why the shipping may seem rather high. This allows for package tracking.

Tracking numbers or delivery confirmation is not available on any shipping below $ to Canada or $47.95 to other countries. Packages lost in the mail will not be replaced

Rates to Canada are as follows:

$0.01 to $44.99 is $12.95
$45.00 to $89.99 is $25.90 (2 Flat Rate Envelopes)
$90.00 to $120.00 is $32.95
$120.00 to $225.00 is $39.95
For orders beyond $225.00, you will be charged $39.95 and then contacted with a request for any additional shipping charges. Please expect to receive an email from me letting you know if more postage will be required before your package will be mailed.

Tracking numbers or delivery confirmation is not available on any shipping below $42.00. Packages lost in the mail will not be replaced.

Rates to other countries are as follows:

$0.01 to $44.99 is $16.95
$45.00 to $89.99 is $33.90 (2 Flat Rate Envelopes)
$90.0 to $120.00 $47.95
For orders beyond $120.00, you will be charged $60.95 and then contacted with a request for any additional shipping charges if needed or refunded if a smaller box is required. Please expect to receive an email from me letting you know if more postage will be required before your package will be mailed.

**New Trial Option for Pattern ONLY orders**
$11.50 for Canada for a Flat Rate Envelope which will fit several patterns and some of the smaller books. Please email me first if you are wanting to ship a book in a Flat Rate Envelope. This will give you an easy way to choose shipping for a Flat Rate Envelope when you are ordering patterns. Otherwise, shipping by order total ends up overcharging for shipping. Please only choose this shipping option when you are purchasing patterns that will fit in the Flat Rate envelope. I will have to require additional shipping if this option is chosen with orders that include fabric. This option gives a discount on the shipping similar to the free first class shipping offered for US orders.

Returns Policy

You may return most new items in new, resalable condition within 7 days of delivery for a full refund. This means that fabric cannot be returned if it has been washed, cut into, or if it has smoke or other strong odors. For example, if you purchased 1 yard of fabric, but only used a 1/2 yard for your project, you may not return the remaining half yard.

We will pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.). Otherwise, shipping costs are the customer's responsibility, and the original shipping cost to you will not be refunded to you.

Because of copyright issues, patterns are not returnable unless you receive the wrong item due to the store's error. This includes downloadable pdf patterns. If you are having trouble with a pdf pattern, please try using Adobe Reader if you were using a different pdf reader.

It is helpful if you call or send an email before sending an item to be returned, however it's not absolutely necessary. Please include an explanation regarding if you'd like a refund or an exchange and the reason for the return.

I am not trying to make money on shipping costs or to be unfair regarding returns. I am just wanting to be sure that I can keep my shop in business, so I try to create policies that are fair to the customer and to the shop as well. I do my best to keep shipping costs low.
