Julie Herman of Jaybird Quilts has a wonderful blog with lots of tutorials, and often has a giveaway going on. She is very talented and has created wonderful quilt patterns that are really top-quality. Lots of colored illustrations and color photos of finished quilts make her patterns easy to follow and a good value.

Ms. Herman has a background in art, and it comes through in some of her blog posts including this one that she wrote as a guest on the Lazy Girls Designs blog about using color in quilts. She shares lots of information that is helpful for chosing colors when creating a quilt.
